Bellflowers Win at Whitby, 5-3
|
Whitby third baseman Ryan Riggs had a good game, even if his team did not. The Bats dropped a 5-3 decision to Buffalo at Eláguila Stadia. Riggs was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Buffalo reliever Dave Figley was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Billy Shields took the loss. The Bellflowers have an impressive 63-38 record.
Buffalo relied on the hitting of Brent Brogdon to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Bellflowers on top, 2-0. For the game, Brogdon had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
