The Franklin Cubs did just enough to sneak past the Moncton Mounties, 4-3, at Mapleton Yards. Franklin pitcher Armando Tamayo, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Tamayo. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Adam Begue. Brent Holt earned the save for Franklin, his 2nd.

Franklin used the clutch hitting of Jerry Robinson to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Cubs the lead, 4-3. For the game, Robinson had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.

"I was a little disappointed," said Moncton manager Kevin Squillace. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

With the win, the Cubs are 31-62.
