The Maine Pines claimed a close win over the Detroit Giants, due in large part to Josh Flaten. The Maine right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. Flaten got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Vinny Narvaez earned his 8th save, after closing out the game.
Kevin Morrow broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Pines in front, 1-0. For the game, Morrow drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"I like our vibe," said Morrow. "It's a winning vibe."
The wins continue to add up for Maine. The latest makes it 12 in a row.
