Whistlers Upend Eagles, 4-1
Boston Whistlers starter Matthew Rowlands was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Indianapolis Eagles, 4-1. Rowlands went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-0. Mark Dudley was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 24 save opportunities.

Boston used a well-timed hit by Steve Wooldridge to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Whistlers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We take it day by day here," said Rowlands, "and today was a good one for us."

The win elevated the Whistlers to 50-44.
