Ward Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Moncton
Lincoln got a terrific game from second baseman Dusty Ward. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Moncton, 7-4. Ward hit 3 home runs. Terence Rodda picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-3 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 1 in 5 innings, while yielding 1 run. Greg Forness closed the game out for Moncton, earning his 3rd save.

The Mounties got an important contribution from designated hitter Charlie Harrison, who in the top of the second punched a 0-1 cutter to left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Mounties ahead, 2-0.

Said Moncton manager Kevin Squillace: "We squared some balls up."

Moncton's record now stands at 46-40, placing them third in the Northern Conference East Division.
