The Detroit Giants picked up a win at The Castle, knocking off the Cincinnati Royals, 4-1. On the mound for Detroit was right-hander Julian Bryant. He played a key role in the triumph. Lee Maher recorded his 24th save for Detroit. The win puts Detroit at 54-41 this season.

Fernando Espindola had a big hit for Detroit in the top of the fifth inning. With Detroit leading 1-0, Espindola hit a run-scoring double. It was his 28th double of the season and put the Giants up, 2-0.

"Julian was dictating to their hitters," said Detroit manager Larry Voltaire.
