Trash Pandas Top Nightmare, 3-2
|
The Toronto Trash Pandas got a stellar effort from pitcher Victor Figueroa, helping Toronto score a win over the visiting New York Nightmare, 3-2, in 10 innings. Toronto reliever Tom Mott picked up the win, upping his record to 3-6. Dana Walker took the loss. Toronto is now 40-55.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 25-year old third baseman Hector Nunez had a chance to be the hero. New York pitcher Dana Walker wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Nunez hit a sacrifice fly. The Trash Pandas had themselves a thrilling win.
"The crowd was raucous," said Nunez.
