|
In a tight contest between the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates and the Terra Linda Chargers, Gu Tian was the determining factor. The Saint Pierre and Miquelon right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-0 win. Tian, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. The save went to Evan Sippel, number 12 for him.
Saint Pierre and Miquelon used the stroke of David Willis to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Pirates ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Elias Quesada.
The Pirates saw their record improve to 50-31.
