The Moncton Mounties got a magnificent performance from pitcher Brian Gay, who stifled the Buffalo offense en route to a 3-0 Mounties win at Mapleton Yards. In 5.1 innings, Gay surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. With the win, the Mounties hiked their record to 41-36.

Elijah Pleasant put Moncton in front, 2-0, when he took Salvador Avendano downtown. His solo home run came with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 6th home run of the season.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Pleasant said.
