The skies opened up and the rain fell at Ballpark of Charleston.

Austin starter Luke Scrimger kept the Charleston hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-1. The winner was Scrimger. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was David Edgemon.

Austin used a well-timed hit by Jared Priest to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Desperados ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Priest told the Austin Citizen.

Austin is in third place in the American Conference South Division with a record of 52-42.
