New York Defeated By Trash Pandas, 8-5
|
No one was more impactful than Ryan Compton in the 8-5 Toronto win over New York. Compton was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Josh Barnstable. He is now 2-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. The Trash Pandas go to 48-46, putting them last in the National Conference North East Division.
Jon Kenyon, the 2nd overall pick in the 2020 draft, aided the Toronto cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Walt DeRosier said.
