Torpedoes Topple Mounties, 13-8, as Stevens Shines
The Long Island Torpedoes topped the Moncton Mounties by a score of 13-8. Leading the way was first baseman Todd Stevens. Stevens went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Torpedoes. Despite the win, the Torpedoes have a lousy 24-46 record.

With Long Island leading 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh, Stevens came up to bat against Moncton pitcher Jeremy Sufka. Stevens hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Torpedoes on top, 12-7.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Stevens. "It sure beats the alternative."
