Torpedoes Sneak By Bats, 5-4
The Long Island Torpedoes did just enough to sneak past the Whitby Bats, 5-4, at Eláguila Stadia. Long Island pitcher Ivan Rodrigues, in particular, had a standout performance. Danny Guajardo earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-5. The Torpedoes raised their record to 26-39.

Ramon Paz found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the 11th. Facing Whitby hurler Tyler Rotella, the 18-year-old right fielder hit a sacrifice fly. His 56th RBI of the season put the Torpedoes on top, 5-4.

Long Island manager Moises Gonzalez commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
