Franklin designated hitter John Wallick had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Wallick was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Moncton beat the Cubs, 5-4. The Mounties sit in third place in the Northern Conference East Division with a record of 32-28.

Moncton used a clutch at-bat from Rafael Rodriguez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mounties ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Rodriguez told the Moncton Daily: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
