5-2 Loss Deepens Tiverton Funk

The Franklin Cubs got a strong performance from pitcher Jim Stuppy, who stymied the Tiverton offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Field of the Colonels. Stuppy picked up the win for Franklin, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. The losses continue to add up for Tiverton, having now dropped 8 straight.
Franklin used the timely hitting of Grant Murphy to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Tiverton skipper Dave Maloney.
