Lincoln Picks Up Another L
|
Lincoln got a terrific game from center fielder Steve Walton. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Moncton, 8-7. Walton was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Moncton reliever Cory Crabtree picked up the win, while Jim Unknown took the loss for Lincoln. Colin Andrus, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
Moncton took the lead, 8-7, on Keith DiPiazza's 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Lincoln pitcher Jim Unknown in the bottom of the eighth.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Moncton manager Kevin Squillace.
Lincoln, at 26-25, has lost 8 straight.
