Mounties Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Plymouth
|
The Moncton Mounties topped the Plymouth Rockers, 6-2, the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Kikuji Tanaka. On the day, Tanaka went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Mounties. Reliever Frank Stroud picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Jim Unknown took the loss. Moncton now owns a record of 24-25.
Moncton second baseman Jeremy Gage helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"I really like what we did out there today," Gage said after the game.
