Dallas Keeps Spiraling Downward
|
Leatherback Park was the site of a tense game between the Dallas Dragons and Daytona Beach Sea Turtles.
The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles picked up a win at Leatherback Park, taking down the Dallas Dragons, 3-2. Starting pitcher Nate McClaskey was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was McClaskey, now 2-12. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Steven Hyatt closed it out for Daytona Beach, earning his 15th save.
Alan McConnell drove in one run for Daytona Beach. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, McConnell had a clutch at-bat. Facing Dallas hurler Ian Muenkel, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Sea Turtles a 3-2 lead.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Dallas manager Edgar Puente. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
Dallas has now lost 8 in a row.
