Mounties Get Thrilling 7-6 Win
Vancouver beat Tampa Bay at Mounties Field, escaping with a 7-6 win in 14 innings. The win in large part was due to right fielder Brian Shultz. He went 4 for 6 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The win went to Nate Miller in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Jesse Vecchio took the loss. The Mounties saw their win-loss record go to 52-41. At the same time, the Captains fell to 44-49.

The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the 14th. With Vancouver trailing 6-5, Jason Saunders delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Jesse Vecchio for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Shultz.
