Whistlers Score 6-3 Win Against Detroit
|
Boston starter Matthew Rowlands pitched well against the Detroit Giants at Whislters Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. The save went to Blake Bryant, number 3 for him. The Giants drop to 5-5 and continue their mediocre start to the 2023 season.
The Whistlers got a big at-bat from right fielder Rich Cloutier. For the game, Cloutier went 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Boston a 2-0 lead.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Rowlands. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
