Ballpark of Charleston was the site of the home opener for the Charleston Sea Dogs. The contest featured a prime matchup between Jaden Mack of the visiting Mexico City Aztecs and Andy Weatherholt of the Sea Dogs. The final score was 6-3, the Aztecs getting the win. Jaden Mack turned in the best performance. The winner was Mack. He threw 7.2 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Andy Weatherholt.

Mexico City used a clutch at-bat from Mark Riley to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Aztecs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I'm happy we won," said Mack. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
