Royals Turn Back Daytona Beach, 3-1

The Cincinnati Royals used a great performance from Juan Fernandez, who is tied for 10th in the NC with a 1.09 WHIP, to beat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 3-1, at The Castle. Fernandez, now 9-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Royals improved their record to 54-38 by beating Daytona Beach.
In the bottom of the 3rd, Cincinnati took the lead on a 2-run single by Rick Brown. At the time, the Royals were trailing 1-0, but Brown's hit with two outs against Daytona Beach pitcher Rodolfo Soto put them in front, 2-1.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Fernandez.
