San Francisco got a terrific performance from pitcher James Dobyns, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dallas Dragons. Dallas won the San Francisco Grounds contest, 3-2. Dobyns threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Dallas reliever Dave Combs, now 4-1. The loser was Scott Hargraves. The Dragons go to 47-44, putting them first in the American Conference South Division.

Gustavo Rawson made it 3-2, in favor of Dallas when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with one out in the top of the ninth. The Dragons went on to win.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Dallas manager Edgar Puente.
