The timely hitting of Art McDonald helped the Philadelphia Marauders down the Syracuse Scorpions, 10-6. McDonald went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Marauders. After losing, Syracuse is 1-9.

With one out in the top of the seventh, Austin Compton had a game-changing hit. The Marauders third baseman slammed a run-scoring single off Dave Holzman, making the score 7-5, Philadelphia.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Compton told the Philadelphia Daily News.
