Maroons Absorb 5-2 Loss at Chiefs Ballpark
|
Santa Fe Chiefs starter Cesar Chairez pitched well against the Montreal Maroons at Chiefs Ballpark, leading his team to a win, 5-2. Chairez yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 5, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. Montreal drops to 6-4.
Steve McKinstry's at-bat in the bottom of the first inning was a big one for Santa Fe. Coming to bat with one out, a runner on 1st and Santa Fe trailing 1-0, the first baseman hit a run-scoring single.
"I thought Cesar threw the ball well across the board," said Santa Fe manager Brandon Harper.
