Willie Villegas had a good game, but he could not keep the San Francisco Fire from falling, 9-3, to the Austin Desperados at San Francisco Grounds. The San Francisco right fielder went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times in the loss. Luke Scrimger got credit for the win, improving to 5-9. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 6.1 innings. The Desperados saw their win-loss record go to 44-47. At the same time, the Fire fell to 34-57.

Ruben Alamo hit a 2-run double off Kyle Griffin in the top of the third, which put the Desperados in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Alamo had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
