23ers Run Win Streak to 6
|
The Fountain Hills 23ers dealt the Syracuse Scorpions a 5-1 loss at Fountain Park. Jason Perrigin was the star on offense. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Joe Woolverton got credit for the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3.1 innings. The second-place Scorpions now sit at 42-49.
Perrigin had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count cutter from Jared Hall, he banged a solo home run to center, giving the 23ers a 2-1 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Perrigin.
Fountain Hills manager Efren Nieman praised his team's "businesslike approach."
