Squires Helps Ft. Wayne Take League Championship Series Game 1
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes started the League Championship Series in dominant fashion, blowing out the visiting Crystal Lake Killers at Earthquakes Stadium by a score of 11-4 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Earthquakes center fielder Micah Squires had a standout performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2.

In the bottom of the sixth, Ft. Wayne designated hitter Chris Pinson had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Pinson stroked a 3-run home run to left-center. It made the score 9-0, Ft. Wayne. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Squires. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Earthquakes Stadium in Ft. Wayne.
