Heathens Get Past Hollywood, 6-5
|
The Halifax Heathens weathered an outstanding game by Hollywood designated hitter Tim Schellin to topple the Stars, 6-5. Schellin went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The winner was Antonio Enriquez in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Isaiah Robinson took the loss. Miguel Soto closed out the game, earning his 6th save.
Halifax took a 6-5 lead on Eric Kukowski's 19th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Kukowski hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hollywood pitcher Isaiah Robinson visibly frustrated.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Kukowski, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
The last-place Stars now sit at 38-53.
