The Phoenix Gladiators licked the San Francisco Fire, 7-2. Zack Husley deserved a big chunk of the credit. The second baseman went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Gladiators. Rob Alvarez got the win, improving to 8-6. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The Gladiators raised their record to 53-38.

Husley had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Keith Hawes, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Gladiators a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Husley.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Husley.
