Boston Makes It 6 Straight with 7-5 Win
The home team gave the crowd at Whislters Park something to cheer about.

The Boston Whistlers defeated the Fountain Hills 23ers, 7-5, at Whislters Park. Paul Simister, who is tied for 4th in the AC with a .327 batting average, was a standout performer for Boston. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Ricky Garay picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-3. Ted Tygart was tagged with the loss. The save went to Blake Bryant, his 17th this season.

Had Carlos Herrera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Herrera hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Whistlers.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Boston manager Mike Plocher.

This win makes it 6 in a row for Boston.
