Glace Bay Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in DS
The Glace Bay Miners got a strong performance from pitcher Larry Weese, who stymied the visiting Huntsville Rockets en route to a win, 5-3, in Game 3 of the Division Series. The Rockets could never get a bead on the right-handed Weese, who threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The Miners now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Brandon Bates hit a bases-clearing double off Jason McCoart in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Miners in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Bates had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"Larry did what Larry does," said Glace Bay manager Carlos Acevedo.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Miners Memorial Park in Glace Bay.
