Virginia Moves on to College World Series
|
The Virginia Cavaliers are off to the College World Series.
By a final score of 6-3 at Davenport Field at Disharoon Park, Virginia ended the Final 4 and knocked out the Nebraska Cornhuskers by a series score of 3-1.
"Two great teams, only one can go on and we're happy that's us," said Alberto Ramirez, who was named series MVP. "There's no easy games, no easy series in the ABA College playoffs."
For the series, Ramirez hit .412 with a .474 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Virginia Cavaliers will play against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the next round. Alabama won their series against the Auburn Tigers 3 games to 1. The College World Series schedule will be announced after the Final 4 finishes.
