Road Win Lifts Lubbock to 1-0 Lead in DS
The Lubbock Stampede powered past the hometown Fremont Marshalls, 5-3, in the opener of the Division Series at Hedgehogs Park. Lubbock catcher Jim Kaufman belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the hosts. The Stampede now lead the series 1-0.

Frank Lewis went 1 for 2 with a hit by pitch for Lubbock. With one out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Lewis had a clutch at-bat. Facing Fremont hurler Jonathan Reeher, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Stampede a 4-3 lead.

Lewis attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hedgehogs Park in Fremont.
