Helms Excels in 15-6 Tiverton Win
The Tiverton Colonels beat the Plymouth Rockers, 15-6, at Madison Grounds. Glen Helms, in particular, was impressive. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3. John Yarbrough had a big grand slam home run for the Colonels in the top of the fifth inning. With Tiverton leading 5-2 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Colonels on top, 9-2.

In comments to the Tiverton News, Yarbrough admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
