Chargers Drop Cubs, 2-1

Terra Linda registered a win at Ballpark of Plantersville by beating the Franklin Cubs, 2-1. Pitcher Justin Hesley was one reason why the Chargers triumphed. Hesley picked up the win for Terra Linda, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. The save went to Cory Crabtree, number 2 for him.
The Cubs had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Chargers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old left fielder Bill Bandy came to the plate. Bandy hit a 2-run double on a first pitch sinker from Franklin hurler Derek Sigers. It was Bandy's 6th double of the year.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Kerry McElree.
Terra Linda has now won 3 in a row.
