Mexico City got a decent performance from pitcher Chris Booth, but it wasn't enough to beat the Phoenix Gladiators. Phoenix won the Gran Estadio Azteca contest, 5-3. Booth threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Picking up the win was Josh Shropshire. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 4. The Gladiators raised their record to 51-38.

The Gladiators got a big at-bat from shortstop John Platzer. For the game, Platzer was 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Phoenix a 3-0 lead.
