Reapers Squelch Pines Offense in Shutout Win
In a low-scoring contest between the Carolina Reapers and the Maine Pines, Jimmy DeMoss was the X factor. The Carolina left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. DeMoss, now 6-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. The defeat makes Maine 44-44.

Rich Simmer had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Carolina. He came through with a 2-run single to put Carolina in front, 3-0.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," DeMoss told the Carolina Daily News. "But we take nothing for granted."
