Whistlers 5-2 Winners Versus Fountain Hills
|
Getting offensive support from Brian Roseman, the Boston Whistlers topped the Fountain Hills 23ers, 5-2. Roseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Whistlers. The winning pitcher was three-time All-Star Jay Helm. He tossed 106 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Blake Bryant earned his 23rd save in 24 chances.
With Boston leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Roseman hit a knuckle curve from Curtis Gring for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Whistlers ahead, 5-2.
Roseman told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
The loss makes Fountain Hills 47-41.
