7-2 Win for Saint Pierre and Miquelon Over Long Island
The Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates got a marvelous performance from pitcher Chris Byrd. The right-hander kept the Long Island offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 7-2 Saint Pierre and Miquelon victory at Spinners Ballpark. The winner was Byrd. He threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Seiichi Yamaguchi. Despite the win, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, now 6-14, is off to a terrible start.

Contributing to the Saint Pierre and Miquelon cause was Rob Minutillo. In the bottom of the third, the 20-year old center fielder had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 3-1, the Pirates in front.

"We did a lot of things right," said Minutillo.
