The Whitby Bats faced a tenacious opponent in Terra Linda pitcher Troy Conner, but still scratched out a win at Ballpark of Plantersville by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Conner went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win leaves Whitby with a record of 7-5.

In the top of the tenth, 22-year old third baseman Terry Hetzel delivered for Whitby. That's when he belted a solo home run, putting the Bats up, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a climactic one.

After the game, Whitby manager David Sawyers applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
