The rain came, as predicted, but the Buffalo Bellflowers and Long Island Torpedoes were able to complete their ballgame.

With left fielder Jose Yenores leading the charge, the Buffalo Bellflowers defeated the Long Island Torpedoes, 12-5, at Wegman's Field. Yenores went 2-2 with 2 doubles and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs. Buffalo reliever Sergio Gonzales snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ivan Rodrigues shouldered the loss.

Jim Unknown had a big 2-run triple for the Bellflowers in the bottom of the third inning. With Buffalo trailing 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Ivan Rodrigues and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bellflowers ahead, 4-3.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Buffalo manager Andy Perez.

The loss drops Long Island to 2-6.
