Royals Take Nail-Biter Over Invaders
The Cincinnati Royals faced a tough opponent in Oakland pitcher Alfredo Tiscareno, but found a way to pull out the victory at The Castle by a final score of 3-2 in 13 innings. Tiscareno went 6 innings and allowed no runs. By defeating Oakland, the second-place Royals improved to 54-33.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Eric Hayes in the bottom of the 13th. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off former first round draft pick Tom Paolucci to win it for Cincinnati and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"Exciting game to play in," said Hayes. "Getting the win makes it even better."
