Omar Valentin of the Terra Linda Chargers was masterful, pitching a 2-hit shutout, 10-0, against the Moncton Mounties.

By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Terra Linda manager Elias Quesada.

"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."

Valentin had 10 strikeouts and no walks in the outing.
