It was a sweet sweep for the Wisconsin Badgers as they eased past the California Golden Bears to advance to the Elite 8.

Wisconsin won the final game by a 7-4 count and the series 2-0.

"We're just fortunate to get through it quickly and be able to rest up for the next series," said Matt Leith, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Leith hit .400 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Wisconsin Badgers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Michigan State Spartans - USC Trojans series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes.
