Plascencia Good, But Not Good Enough, in 7-6 Loss
Indianapolis designated hitter Ricky Plascencia had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Plascencia hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5, even as Carolina beat the Eagles, 7-6. The win belonged to Nate McClaskey in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jonathan Gonzales took the loss for Indianapolis. The victory puts Carolina at 34-52.

Carolina used the timely hitting of Jordan Torres to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reapers on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Torres told the Carolina Observer.
