Eagles Rally Late to Nip Sea Turtles
|
The Indianapolis Eagles and Daytona Beach Sea Turtles played an entertaining game for Leatherback Park patrons.
Starting pitcher Jerry Bowman gave the Indianapolis Eagles a rock-solid effort. The St. Clair Shores, Michigan native helped his team defeat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 3-2, at Leatherback Park. Indianapolis has now won 3 straight, while the Sea Turtles have lost 3 in a row.
Jim Van Donsel provided a timely hit. The Indianapolis catcher delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Eagles on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
