Eagles Use Late Score to Top Reapers, 2-1
|
Ray Dappen, who is tied for 10th in the NC in quality starts with 9, was locked in. The right-hander led the Indianapolis Eagles to a 2-1 win against the Carolina Reapers at Eagles Stadium. The win was credited to 25-year old left-handed pitcher Vinny Ceja in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Mike Fisher took the loss. The Indianapolis win streak is now 4 games.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jerry Robinson in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off two-time All-Star Mike Fisher to win the game for Indianapolis. The home crowd went nuts.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
