Alvarez, Dragons Romp Over Caribou, 11-3

The Dallas Dragons defeated the Vancouver Caribou, 11-3. Shortstop Willie Alvarez deserved a large share of the credit. Alvarez went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Dragons. Glenn Ward got credit for the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings. The second-place Dragons have a record of 42-43.
With Dallas leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Alvarez batted against Vancouver pitcher Jaden Mack. Alvarez hit a screwball to right for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Dragons on top, 4-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Dragons manager Edgar Puente. "We came out swinging the bats."
