|
The San Diego Fleet picked up a win at Dell Diamond, knocking off the Austin Desperados, 3-2. On the mound for San Diego was left-hander Carlos Mendez. He played a key role in the triumph. Mendez yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-7. At 42-43, the Fleet are currently third in the National Conference West Division.
Jason Cox hit a run-scoring triple off Sam Campos in the top of the eighth, which put the Fleet in front, 3-2. Cox had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
