Brawlers Beaten By Scorpions, 6-0
|
The Syracuse Scorpions went home winners at Scorpion Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Matt Simpson. Simpson stifled the Cleveland Brawlers, enabling Syracuse to grab the 6-0 win. The winner was Simpson. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Mario Salazar. The win puts Syracuse at 32-53.
The Scorpions got a big at-bat from shortstop Tim Ferro. For the game, Ferro went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 14th double of the season gave Syracuse a 3-0 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Simpson told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
