The Syracuse Scorpions beat the Detroit Giants, 10-4, at Scorpion Stadium. Chris Guardiola, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Ivan Medina earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Syracuse is now 42-43, Detroit 41-44.

With the game tied, 4-4, in the bottom of the seventh, Guardiola had a key at-bat for Syracuse. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Guardiola hit a run-scoring single off Tony Gutierrez, making the score 5-4, Scorpions.
