In a tight game between the Halifax Heathens and the Vancouver Caribou, nobody was more important for the winners than Richard Ulmer. Ulmer was masterful in the 2-1 win. Joe Brackett was the winner. He's now 4-7. The loser was fan favorite Angel Morales. Sean Ryan was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 6 save opportunities.

Ulmer contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Vancouver in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Ulmer took a curveball from Angel Morales and stroked the home run to right-center. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Caribou to leap in front, 2-1.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Caribou manager Pete Clark.

The Caribou sport a record of 33-51.
