McCargar goes 3-for-4, Leads Marauders to Win
The Philadelphia Marauders defeated the Boston Whistlers, 6-3, in American Conference action at Whislters Park. Johnny McCargar pulled his weight. The 9-year veteran went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. John Dollar, the winner, improved to 10-2. He held the Whistlers to 3 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 2. Philadelphia, at 49-35, holds down first place in the American Conference North East Division.

Philadelphia took a 4-3 lead on McCargar's 8th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Ricky Garay in the top of the eighth, propelled Philadelphia to the win.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz.
