23ers Fall, 7-1, to Schalow, Captains
|
The Tampa Bay Captains topped the Fountain Hills 23ers, 7-1, with designated hitter Hunter Schalow playing a big role. Schalow went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Captains in the win. Tampa Bay, now 38-46, holds down second place in the American Conference Central Division.
Schalow had a big hit for Tampa Bay with one out in the bottom of the second. With Tampa Bay leading 2-0, Schalow hit a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Captains up, 5-0.
Said losing manager Efren Nieman: "Give the Captains credit. They played a better game than we did."
